Taylor Swift’s Burlesque Debut with Icon Dita Von Teese in ‘Bejeweled’ Music Video

LOS ANGELES — Burlesque icon Dita Von Teese performs her legendary—imitated but never duplicated—martini glass act for superstar Taylor Swift’s newest song release, “Bejeweled.” Watch the newly released music video HERE

In the highly anticipated music video, Von Teese and Swift perform alongside each other, both wearing matching Swarovski crystallized corsets by the burlesque artist’s own longtime creative collaborator and costumer Catherine D’Lish. Together, Swift and Von Teese take the stage, each one splashing and spinning around in one of Dita’s sparkling Swarovski-crystallized signature martini glasses.

Dita’s distinctive and original “Girl in the Glass” choreography, which both artists perform in the video, has been copyrighted since 2002, and has gained her international fame.

“I had a wonderful time working with Taylor’s stylist Joseph Cassell on creating the costumes with Catherine D’Lish, and coaching Taylor on the act… and what a delight to perform alongside her for the video!” said Dita Von Teese “Taylor’s generosity radiates in all that she does. I’m deeply touched by her kindness in acknowledging not only me, but burlesque, an American artform to which I have dedicated my life. It was a true pleasure to share my martini glass act with her.”

“One of my favorite performers, who I think has been so influential in pop music, I’ve nicknamed this character not the fairy godmother but the fairy goddess…and that is played by Dita Von Teese, who I think is one of the most iconic performers and it’s so exciting to see her do what she does in this,” said Taylor Swift to Jimmy Fallon on the Tonight Show Monday night.

This music video showcase comes on the sparkling heels of Von Teese’s heralded cameo in this season’s box-office and critically acclaimed Olivia Wilde-directed feature film DON’T WORRY DARLING and the latest tour creative directed by Von Teese, “Glamonatrix,” which sold-out landmark theaters throughout Europe this year and will come to the North America in 2023.

Produced by Live Nation, the upcoming 21-date tour kicks off on January 7th, 2023, in Seattle, WA at the Paramount Theatre, making stops across North America in San Francisco, New Orleans, New York, and more along with a special performance on Valentine’s Day at The Chicago Theatre. The tour hits three cities in Texas, plus Dita’s home state of Michigan, with a finale show in Riverside, CA at the Fox Performing Arts Center on February 24th.
