The 56-year-old iconic Mexican singer is not only celebrating 40 years in the music industry but his highly-anticipated one night special event at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles is sold out!
In an unprecedented turn of events, concert tickets for his anniversary concert sold out within 5 days of going on sale. The concert will take place on Saturday, October 8 and is set to commemorate four decades of musical hits from ‘El Poeta del Siglo,’ who throughout his career has garnered five Latin GRAMMYs and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Considered one of the greatest musical living legends in Latin America, Marco Antonio Solis was awarded this year with Billboard’s Lifetime Achievement Award. But that’s not the first time he’s been recognized by the glossy magazine. In 2010, he was named Billboard’s Latin Artist of the Decade for his immense chart achievements, which include 30 record breaking songs that have hit the top 10 of Hot Latin Songs. Other notable accolades include 2014’s Pop Male Artist of Year by Premio Lo Nuestro and numerous awards by international festival Viña Del Mar, to name a few.
The sold out show at STAPLES Center is part of Marco Antonio Solis’ extensive world tour that has already made successful stops in Mexico, Chile, Puerto Rico and the United States. A few crowd pleasing performances, include classics like “Tu Cárcel,” “La Venia Bendita” and “Si No Te Hubieras Ido.”
The highly orchestrated show is expected offer a unique experience thanks to an innovative stage design that will allow spectators to enjoy a 360 degree stage show. The show will also feature more than 45 musicians on stage and over a dozen talented dancers.
With 18 studio albums, over 40 million album copies sold and over 300 songs to his name, “El Buki” will continue to be considered one of the most influential artists in Latin music. He’s also the only Latin artist, to have 12 albums reach the No. 1 spot in Billboard’s Top Albums chart.
