Cafe Tacuba celebrates 25 years of musicon the alt-Latin scene, no band has a higher profile than Cafe Tacuba …true to its antic spirit, the band is celebrating an anniversary with a twist: two milestones, the 20th anniversary of its landmark album ‘Re’ and the 25th anniversary of the group itself on the ‘20re-ct25 Tour,’ ’Re’ is not just any album. The 20-track release features many of the band’s signature songs… In 2012, Rolling Stone magazine put ‘Re’ in the No. 1 spot on its list of the 10 Greatest Latin Rock Albums of All Time …On ‘Re’, Cafe Tacuba throws virtually every traditional Mexican style — norteno, ranchera, bolero, son — into its alt-Latin mix, layered over a foundation of guitar rock, punk, ska, metal and more.” – Chicago Tribune

Best of Supersonico:  Tacvba and Their Infectious Energy – The majority of the people we spoke to at Supersonico said they were most excited to see Café Tacvba perform. Even before the legendary Mexican group took the stage, people were singing along to the famous chorus from “El Baile Y El Salón”: “Paparupapa eu eo” (over and over).  Café Tacvba did not disappoint; it’s clear why they are the reigning champs of rock en español. They were as much in the moment and as excited to be there as the crowd was. … the echo of the crowd singing along was so loud that it could probably be heard across the nearby USC campus.  Rubén Albarrán, the lead singer, jumped on top of the speakers at one point, engaging with the crowd… Café Tacvba were essentially giving a lesson in how they are still, 20 years later, legends. They teased the crowd with encore after encore, playing hits like “Cómo Te Extraño Mi Amor,” extending their encore into another set of its own”LA Weekly.
