HOLLYWOOD FOREVER KICKED OFF THEIR DIA DE LOS MUERTOS QUINCEAÑERA WITH A CATRINA FASHION SHOW AND MARIACHI DIVAS
Monday, October 27, 2014 – Los Angeles, CA – A pre-Día de Los Muertos media reception was held this past Friday at Hollywood Forever to kick off their 15th annual celebration. Hollywood Forever is one of the oldest memorial parks in Los Angeles and home to the Dia de Los Muertos annual event, the largest celebration of its kind in the country. This year’s festivities, hosted by Univision’s Jackie Guerrido and Ricardo Quintero, will take place on Saturday, November 1st, 2014 from 12pm until 12am at Hollywood Forever located at 6000 Santa Monica Blvd, Los Angeles. At Friday’s pre-Dia de los Muertos reception members of the press were invited to experience some of the most beautiful and elaborate altar designs and catrina displays by local artists Ricardo Soltero and Luis Villanueva. Press were also invited to take part in the quinceanera court of honor and learn to waltz with choreographer Gabriel Avila who was on hand to teach the traditional quinceañera dance. Additionally, the Catrina Fashion Show impressed everyone in attendance with spectacular dresses provided by designer Diego Medel of Pink Horses.
A quinceañera would not be a celebration without cake, food, drinks and music; as part of the celebration, guests listened to the sounds of traditional Son Jarocho music by Tenocelomeh, sipped on spirits provided by El Jimador Tequila, savored the authentic taste of Jalisco style tacos by Jalisco Taco Grill and sampled delicious quinceañera cake by April’s Cakes.
For the grand finale guests were invited to stay for a special performance by GRAMMY Award winners Mariachi Divas.
