Mariana Vega: Breakout Artist of 2014

Mariana Vega has had an incredible year by reaching major milestones in her career. As 2014 comes to a close, here is a look back at the Latina singer/songwriter’s wonderful accomplishments.

Los Angeles, CA (December 15th 2014.) -Since the release of the critically-acclaimed album,“Mi Burbuja” earlier this year on iTunes, the album has quickly climbed the charts owing to the amazing reception it has earned from music fans and critics alike. The single, “De Tu Voz,” was an immediate hit. The stunning black and white video for the track was shot in Mexico City and directed by Alejandro Lozano.

A highlight for Vega was recording with Oscar D’Leon on a cover of the classic song, “Te Busco,”which was made famous by Celia Cruz. In this version, pop elements are added while keeping the feel of the original. Vega and D’Leon were mindful of giving the song their flavor without compromising the integrity of this Caribbean classic.

Meanwhile in Venezuela, Vega secured a contract with Movistar as a result of the buzz she generated throughout the year. She was also tapped as a judge for the popular reality show, YO SOY EL ARTISTA, where the top 100 social media influencers were asked to participate in the broadcast. The show airs on one of the largest Spanish-language networks in the US. Recently, Vega was invited as a presenter for the ASCAP Awards in New York.

Another highlight for Vega was being invited to be part of the prestigious Warner Chappell Songwriting Camp, where singers and songwriters are brought together to collaborate on various creative projects as a way to foster creativity and build lasting relationships between artists. Simply being a part of this project with other amazing artists was an honor according to the young artist. She viewed this invitation as an affirmation from her peers.

Award season was very good to Vega. She was nominated for 3 Premios Pepsi in her native Venezuela in three categories: “Best Pop Album,” “Best Pop Song” and “Best Female Artist.”Legendary Venezuelan artist, Franco De Vita recently invited Vega to share the stage with him for his performance at Latin GRAMMY Acoustic Session in Miami. Vega went on to take home the“Best New Artist” award at the Latin GRAMMYs in Las Vegas. Back home, Vega described her experiences to the press by stating, “It has been incredible to be back in Venezuela! Bringing back good news is both a responsibility and a privilege for me. I feel super motivated to continue the hard work it takes to get my music heard.”

As 2014 comes to a close, Vega reflects on how she was able to make a major impression on the press in Venezuela where she had the opportunity to participate in various press junkets and in-studio visits to the most important channels, including Venevisión, Televen, and Globovisión and the top social media site followed by young music fans. All this combined with various live performances; Vega was able to solidify her bond with adoring fans.

A few days ago, she was recognized by OK! Magazine (Venezuela) as one of the 10 Most Successful Venezuelans of 2014″ , which proves this has been a banner year for Mariana Vega. All the accomplishments and the accolades she has received are only a glimpse of what the future has in store for this young phenom.
